The California Endowment (TCE) launched its newest effort, the Robert K. Ross Center for Hope and Healing, a campus next to its headquarters in downtown LA, that will offer affordable housing, a multitude of programs aimed at expanding access to health and wellness services, and be a source of community gathering and restoration. The dream for the center was sparked from Dr. Ross, TCE’s former President and CEO, in 2019, with the hope to combat the affordable housing crisis. The Zellerbach Family Foundation, in partnership with Dean & Margaret Lesher Foundation, released a first-of-its-kind report detailing the arts and culture landscape in Contra Costa County. The report, Creative Pulse: A Baseline Study of Contra Costa County’s Arts and Culture Sector, is the culmination of months of research and community engagement to understand the unique characteristics of the county’s arts and culture sector. It identifies over 300 organizations and provides recommendations on how to support them. We had the honor of shepherding the communications plan for the release of the report. We Are California, a newly formed coalition, is standing up for the state’s values of inclusion, community, and defending democracy.
