Grantmakers for Girls of Color (G4GC) held their first in-person national convening in Charlotte, North Carolina, this week bringing together philanthropic leaders and funders to support girls and gender-expansive youth of color. “Much of the strategy work that is happening, the healing work that is happening, the education work that is happening is often led by girls. The California Endowment (TCE) is reiterating the importance of intergenerational organizing as a vital tool for advancing equity and long-term community change across California. In this article in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, CalEndow shares how it has supported organizing efforts throughout the state through its $300 million Social Bond, which invests in grassroots power building for health justice and racial equity. The foundation calls on fellow grantmakers to uplift the people who live closest to injustice, and fuel the innovative, long-term solutions our communities are already leading.
