Young Californians and their families are currently grappling with an intensifying economic crisis, with relief appearing increasingly elusive. As they navigate a turbulent political landscape, youth are confronting skyrocketing living expenses, stagnant wages, and diminishing opportunities, all while corporate profits soar and political leaders fail to provide adequate solutions. 

In collaboration with Latino Decisions, Power California surveyed 1,567 Californians between the ages of 18 and 30 to identify the most pressing issues they face. Despite women and girls making up half the population, organizations serving them receive just over 2% of U.S. charitable giving, even as demand for their services continues to grow. Alliance for Girls is bringing attention to the funding gap through new research from their Political Impact Project, showing that organizations serving girls and gender-expansive youth are experiencing significant financial losses and increased pressure in the current political climate. Alliance for Girls is calling on funders to increase unrestricted, long-term support, invest in advocacy, reduce administrative burdens, and prioritize girls of color and gender-expansive youth.
