Social issues are “very important, but they’re not the most urgent thing for young people right now,” said Saa’un Bell, Executive Vice President of Power California. This is according to the 2025  youth poll, which reveals that economic concerns, such as the cost of living and inflation, are the top priorities for young Californians. Surveying 1,890 Californians aged 18-30, the results show that many young adults are struggling financially, with 80% feeling their wages can’t keep up with living costs. According to Bell: “It’s not so much that young people don’t care about social issues — because they very much do — but because they’re living paycheck to paycheck.” Change worked with Power CA to plan a virtual press conference to announce the youth poll.  Read more about Power California’s 7th youth poll in this feature for SF Gate and MSN.
