Rebecca is a senior communications leader with over two decades of experience maximizing strategic communications and media relations to advance social justice. Her work is centered on amplifying advocacy efforts to promote fairness, justice, and equity.
She previously served as the Director of Communications at Movement Advancement Project, ACLU of Northern California, and the State Bar of California. Rebecca has partnered with pivotal social change organizations in-house and as a consultant, with extensive work on high-stakes issues including LGBTQ+ equality and justice for transgender people, criminal justice reform, abortion access, digital privacy, racial justice, and economic justice.
Rebecca has secured earned media coverage in top national outlets, including The New York Times, CNN, and NPR, while also working closely with journalists at targeted regional and local outlets. She has prepped hundreds of spokespeople for high-profile interviews and media appearances, ranging from nonprofit executives to community activists. Additionally, she has
written and placed impactful op-eds for dozens of organizations in prominent media outlets.
As a consultant Rebecca partnered with a range of social change organizations, including Chinese for Affirmative Action, Freedom for All American’s LGBTQ+ nondiscrimination campaign, Southern Poverty Law Center, and Working Partnerships USA. She is also a previous Rockwood Leadership Institute LGBTQ fellow.
